Moxidectin
AntiparasiticsAn endectocide (internal and external antiparasitic) of the macrocyclic lactone (milbemycin) class. It binds to glutamate-gated chloride channels in the nerve and muscle cells of parasites, causing paralysis and death. It is effective against roundworms and arthropods.

Indications
- Gastrointestinal and lung roundworms
- Mange, lice, and susceptible external parasites
Contraindications & warnings
- Some dog breeds (such as collies and those with the MDR1 mutation) are more sensitive to neurotoxicity
- Not used in species not authorized on the label
Drug interactions
- Its neurological effect may be aggravated by drugs that enhance GABA activity
